So after deciding that I needed to branch out my ideas a little more in my review for the hazelnut and raspberry baked cheesecake brownie at Olive and Bean last week, I have completely contradicted myself already. I think it’s safe to say that my raspberry, hazelnut and meringue squares might not be the most original, but they are pretty yummy so, again, it’s a very sorry not sorry situation.
Even though the review section of my blog was supposed to feature on a bi-weekly basis, the temptation to make chocolate, coconut and lime cupcakes last week was just two strong! (Blame national cupcake week). So this week I instead decided to use it as an excuse to drag my Mum to one of my favourite cafes in Newcastle and really show the diet where to go!
From Jaffa Cakes to Nutella, it’s safe to say I am piling the sugar in for these blog posts and, even though my jeans might disagree, not a single part of my is even slightly sorry. While this recipe in particular is definitely geared towards those with a sweet tooth and could fall into the borderline health risk category, it is absolutely delicious and I would modestly recommend it.
So first things first happy new year everyone! Now we can all happily wave goodbye to 2016 with a general sigh of relief and look towards a hopeful 2017 with it’s first few sober and sweaty months at the gym until we all discover wine and chocolate again. Let’s face it, it’s going to happen, and I will be here with my blog helping you all fail along the way (cue evil laugh). But on a more positive note, I hope you all had a wonderful new years eve (and I do wish you luck really). Anyway, back to the baking…
