Since we have now made it into 2018 and Christmas and New Year have well and truly passed, I do somewhat apologise for this blog post as it has slightly missed its mark. I also promise that I will start a blog post in some way other than with an apology sometime soon!
If you happened to read my last post for porn star martini cheesecake squares, then you will know that the time finally arrived to celebrate my last weekend before moving to France for another ski season. I will admit now that my decision to try these particular bakes was purely coincidental and by no means a representation of any mood apart from the constant desire to stuff my face with sugar. But I have to admit both bakes certainly did the trick.
So after my first ever review on my blog last week, I return to my attempts at concocting recipes in true form. Essentially, this means I run out of time and can’t do anything even nearly as ambitious as I would have liked it to be. This week I definitely faced the same issue, but this time I didn’t even have time to get any ingredients. So, after scouring the larder I have orange, marzipan and date cake and, I have to say, it’s pretty delicious.
Now I have posted my chocolate and cherry semi-naked cake I, as promised, will return to Christmas bakes; since it is now only 1 week away from the actual day (explaining why I am slightly nervous that I still haven’t finished my shopping) I think it is probably a fairly acceptable thing to do. Since I have already done my take on mince pies, I thought I would have a bash at another of my favourite ways to gain weight at Christmas, stollen.
